kimber-bfx-103-0m
Kimber Bifocal XL Loudspeaker Cable

Bifocal XL - Deliver truth

BiFocal-XL loudspeaker cable is designed for full range, bi-wired speakers. A total of 36 hyper-pure copper VariStrand conductors are used in its construction, all of which are insulated with Teflon dielectrics. 12 conductors, with an aggregate gauge size of two times 11.5awg, are used in the "inner" circuit. 24 conductors, with an aggregate gauge size of two times 8.5awg, are used in the "perimeter" circuit. The outside diameter of the cable is 1.25 inches (3.2cm) and is finished in a semi translucent satin black.

Bifocal XL builds on the BIFOCAL X platform by increasing the copper mass on each layer. A twelve wire braid worked around the X38R core followed by a layer of braided ESD yarn to separate the high frequency conductors from the twenty four braid that makes up the low frequency conductors.

After three trips through the braider you end up with two distinctly unique cables in a single body. A true biwire or biamp cable in one sleek package. Made of equal parts TC and VS conductors. The best of both TC and VS attributes with much better soundstage and more precise imaging. A better solution for longer runs or more challenging loads.

Specifications

(Cp) parallel capacitance: 600 pF / meter

(Ls) series inductance: 0.1476 uH / meter

(Rdc) dc loop resistance: 0.0096 Ohm / meter

Reviews

If I had to sum up my experience with the Kimber products in a few words, that's how I'd say it....true to the music.
