Wireless Hi-Fi & Home Theatre Systems

Wireless Hi-Fi Systems are growing quickly in popularity. No longer do you need to connect speakers to an amplifier, rather music can be distributed through your Wi Fi network to active speakers (which have built-in amplifiers) in a room or throughout the house.

Why choose a wireless HiFi system?

Wireless Hi-Fi Systems are particularly useful in homes where it is difficult, disruptive or expensive to lay speaker cables. They can be placed anywhere close to an AC power outlet and in some cases this may not need to be an issue if the speakers are powered by battery for example mobile outdoor speakers.

Multiple speakers can be easily configured into multi-room AV zones enabling different music, radio and TV to be streamed to rooms within the home.

Another advantage is that wireless systems are portable and are able to be moved both within the home, to a holiday home or even a new house.

Control is through an app on a phone, tablet or pc / mac which takes just a few minutes to download and set up. The app also connects you to music sharing website such as Spotify, Pandora, Tidal to name a few.

What could be easier!

Are speaker cables obsolete?

So why would you go to the effort and expense of adding in the cabling when there are wireless multi-room audio systems on offer?

Reasons include:

  • that it puts less demand on the home network
  • building or renovating is an ideal time because you have greater opportunity to add a wired infrastructure
  • some people have a preference for discrete speakers in the wall, ceiling or even invisible speakers while others prefer the performance of traditional speakers which demand good cabling to extract the nuances of a good recording and
  • the benchmark is still a speaker cable system.

Strong WiFi is very important

As the number of wireless networks and devices increases, it is very important to have a wireless infrastructure which is able to cope now and in the future. Soundline works with clients to design and install such systems and you might be surprised at how little this can cost.
