The Accuphase E-6000 is a flagship Class AB integrated amplifier that brings the performance, refinement and driving ability of Accuphase separate components into a single chassis. Building on the E-5000, it represents more than five decades of Accuphase amplifier development, with substantial upgrades to both the preamplifier and power amplifier sections.

Balanced AAVA, Elevated

At the heart of the E-6000 is Accuphase’s Balanced AAVA volume control system, derived from the company’s separate preamplifiers. Unlike a conventional resistive volume control, AAVA adjusts listening level without placing a traditional variable resistor in the signal path. The addition of Accuphase’s ANCC technology in the I/V conversion stage further reduces noise, contributing to improved signal-to-noise performance across everyday listening levels.

The power amplifier section delivers 260 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 350 watts per channel into 4 ohms. A current-feedback topology provides excellent phase characteristics, while a cascode bootstrap circuit and six parallel high-power bipolar output transistors per channel give the E-6000 the current capability and control required to drive demanding loudspeakers.

Flagship Power with Exceptional Control

Its substantial power supply has also been developed specifically for the increased output capability. An extra-large toroidal transformer is partnered with high-capacity 47,000 μF filter capacitors, providing the amplifier with significant energy reserves and helping maintain stable performance during demanding musical passages.

A damping factor of 1000 further demonstrates the E-6000's ability to maintain precise control over connected loudspeakers. The speaker protection circuit uses ultra-low-resistance MOSFET switching, while output short-circuit, abnormal-temperature and DC detection systems provide comprehensive protection for both the amplifier and speakers.

The E-6000's flagship status is reflected in its construction and finish. A revised internal layout accommodates the larger power transformer, while large analogue power meters dominate the front panel. Satin-finished aluminium detailing, gold-plated control components and Accuphase's in-house developed input selector contribute to the amplifier's substantial, precision-engineered feel. The E-6000 is supplied with the RC-260 remote control.
