The Evolution of Dynavector’s Magnetic Circuit

At the heart of the XV Prima is its advanced magnetic circuit. Eight ALNICO magnets create an exceptionally short and efficient magnetic pathway, while the four-part equaliser provides independent magnetic pathways for each coil. This carefully controlled arrangement reduces cross-interference between channels, helping deliver outstanding separation, lower distortion and a remarkably clean, coherent presentation.

The XV Prima also introduces Dynavector’s Special Annealing process to the XV Series. Applied not only to the yokes and equaliser but also to all eight ALNICO magnets, the process is designed to restore the magnetic properties affected by machining and manufacturing. The result is a magnetic circuit capable of delivering greater resolution, smooth wide-range expression and an expansive sound field.

A New Destination in Analogue

Dynavector’s flux damper further stabilises the magnetic field by generating opposing magnetic flux to suppress fluctuations. Two flux dampers are used on each side of the yoke to stabilise the two circuits generated by the eight magnets, helping produce a clean, natural signal with reduced distortion and colouration.

The result is a cartridge with a wide, naturally proportioned soundstage and an honest, balanced tonal character. Rather than drawing attention to any particular part of the frequency spectrum, the XV Prima is designed to let the music speak with clarity, stability and coherence.

A precision 6mm solid boron cantilever is fitted with a PF Line Contact stylus, with a 7 × 30 micron radius.
