At the core of the SL-1200GME is a completely re-engineered motor and control system. Technics’ ΔΣ-Drive (Delta Sigma Drive) technology, adapted from their full-digital amplifiers, employs advanced PWM and digital signal processing to generate an exceptionally pure sine-wave drive signal. The result is remarkably low motor vibration and exceptional rotational precision.

Supporting this is a high-torque, iron-coreless double-rotor, single-stator direct-drive motor—meticulously designed to eliminate cogging and deliver ultra-smooth, whisper-quiet platter motion.

A hybrid encoder with a Hall sensor constantly tracks platter rotation, automatically correcting for minute disturbances such as record warps, ensuring unwavering pitch accuracy and stability.

Silent Power, Pure Performance

Powering the SL-1200GME’s exceptional performance is Technics’ Multi-Stage Silent Power Supply, a design inherited from their flagship turntable. Operating at over 100 kHz, this high-speed switching supply employs a noise-cancelling circuit that injects reverse-phase current to eliminate residual interference—delivering an ultra-low noise floor and an outstanding signal-to-noise ratio.

Built on a solid foundation

The chassis and platter are built for absolute stability and resonance control. A four-layer plinth combines die-cast aluminium, BMC resin, and damping rubber for rigidity and isolation, while the three-layer platter—constructed from aluminium, brass, and rubber—provides ideal mass and balance for consistent playback. The S-shaped magnesium tonearm, mounted on precision bearings, tracks grooves with remarkable sensitivity and accuracy, preserving every detail of the recording.

Collector’s Edition Credentials

This model is offered in strictly limited numbers: globally only 1,200 pieces of the Silver (SL-1200GME) and 1,210 pieces of the Black version (SL-1210GME) will be produced. It marks the final chapter in the SL-1200/1210 “G” series—a piece of turntable history.
