Accuphase E-4000 Integrated Stereo Amplifier

Details

Specifications

The E-4000 integrated amplifier is the successor to Accuphase's highly regarded E-480. Noise levels are significantly lower, with the E-4000 being around 20% less than its predecessor, thanks to a revised AAVA volume control system and ANCC circuit.

Power is nothing without control though, and a guaranteed damping factor of 800 gives full command of your speakers to realise their full potential. The E-4000 delivers an impressive 33% DF increase over the already excellent E-480.

Option Boards

A range of sophisticated option boards opens up even more possibilities. The Accuphase DAC Input Board features a USB port and support for high-bit, high-sampling frequency signals up to 192 kHz/24 bits. The newly developed Analog Disc Input Board AD-50 is also available, ideal for high-grade reproduction of analog records using either MC or MM phono cartridges.

Balanced AAVA Volume Control

Conventional preamplifiers use variable resistors to adjust volume, which causes contacts to deteriorate and create grit as well as increase noise at normal volume levels. AAVA, however, produces multiple, widely varying signals from the input signal and controls volume by changing the combination of those signals. This achieves minimum noise at all volume levels without any grit. The E-4000 with its balanced AAVA circuits delivers exceptional noise suppression performance.
