The audiophile evolution

The Debut Carbon EVO focuses on the core aspects that make a turntable sound great. Technically correct design - expert craftsmanship - handmade in the EU. This turntable is built to last you a lifetime!

Pro-Ject have put all of their technology and experience gained from the past into the Debut Carbon EVO. Looking at more advanced TPE damping and highmass sandwich constructions they have come up with a new motor and suspension solution for the Debut Carbon EVO.

"Our new Debut Carbon EVO does not just look great - it also always stands perfectly level. It uses 3 height adjustable heavy-duty metal feet to ensure a level positioning on every surface."

The Debut Carbon is already nearly the perfect turntable, especially considering the price and the materials used. Now, much research has gone into making the Debut Carbon EVO even better, but Pro-Ject's main objective has not changed over the years. The goal is still to build an affordable high-performance turntable that not just looks incredibly luxurious and modern, but also features a great sound quality.

The Debut Carbon EVO focuses on the core aspects that make a turntable sound great. Technically correct design - expert craftsmanship - handmade in the EU. This turntable is built to last you a lifetime! Additional features that might negatively impact the overall audio performance or longevity are left out.

'Vinyl won't survive,' they said, throughout the transition era where tapes reigned supreme and CDs started to emerge. When music started to be digitised, compressed, and turned into something it wasn't. They didn't count on us remembering that classic sound, that quality, that had the potential to move us.

Today's Debut Carbon EVO is a very different turntable, with precision as a big factor on top of design and sound quality. In line with turntables with a much higher price tag, the Debut Carbon EVO has a carbon fibre tonearm and heavy platter to reduce resonance for smooth, clear music, and comes pre-fitted with the Ortofon OM10 cartridge to match. It's also been upgraded to a DC power supply for more precise speed stability and reduced vibrations.

Pro-Ject Debut Carbon EVO TurntableI know Pro-Ject makes great-sounding gear at reasonable prices. The EVO is no exception, and I can easily recommend it to anyone looking for an entry-level turntable that’ll perform for years to come. It’s the sort of turntable that a first-time audiophile could build a system around, and not need to upgrade for a long while. To my ears, this is the one to beat. more...
