All that technology is backed up by an impressive sonic performance with sparklingly precise transients, crisp dialogue and a spacious, well-balanced soundstage. The A6A is one of the most responsive, clean and dynamic-sounding AVRs we’ve heard at this price.

I could write a great deal more about this richly featured receiver, but a quick summary will have to do. The RX-A6A's audio quality proved beyond reproach, and it has ample power for most any system and user scenario I can imagine.

Its sound is naturalistic and musical, and alongside the control it brings to multichannel tracks there's an undercurrent of snarl and aggression. It's (literally) a home cinema heavyweight, and should be on your audition list if a new AVR (with HDMI 2.1 connectivity) is the order of the day.
