In-Wall Subwoofer System with Dual 13.5-inch Subwoofer Drivers, 2000 watts

The same minds that engineered JL Audio's reference-grade Fathom® and Gotham® powered subwoofers have created an amazing in-wall subwoofer solution, centered on a pair of purpose-engineered, thin-line drivers with patented technology.

If you want uncompromised bass performance in a room that won’t easily accommodate freestanding subwoofers, there’s only one game in town.

Housing these exotic drivers are two critically engineered enclosures with a unique floating mount design to minimize wall excitation. The enclosures feature extensive architectural features aimed at improving rigidity while keeping a very low profile and minimal wall thickness.

A paintable, fine steel-mesh grille, also designed to control vibration, is included for each enclosure in the system.

The IWS System Two is driven by a rack-mountable, purpose-tuned amplifier, capable of delivering up to 2 kW of clean power, and armed with serious processing features, including our acclaimed Automatic Room Optimization system.

There is no need to lower your expectations when selecting this remarkable in-wall solution... it's a real Fathom®.

Who is this for?

Who is this for?

This in-wall subwoofer system is purpose-built for the discerning listener who demands uncompromising low-frequency performance without sacrificing living space or interior aesthetics. If you're serious about music and film but work within architectural constraints—whether that's a dedicated home theater, a great room, or a high-performance two-channel listening space—the Fathom IWS-SYS-213 delivers the articulate, powerful bass that separates reference-quality systems from merely good ones. This is for those who understand that proper bass integration isn't optional; it's foundational.

The system excels in medium to large rooms, typically 300 to 600 square feet, where conventional floor-standing subwoofers would dominate the visual landscape. You'll need a quality AV receiver or dedicated subwoofer amplifier capable of delivering at least 500 watts RMS, along with room correction capabilities like Dirac or Audyssey to fully realize the system's potential. The dual 13.5-inch drivers work in tandem to move serious air while the in-wall design couples naturally with your room boundaries, giving you output and extension that belies its invisible footprint.

This is the choice for those building or renovating who want to future-proof their investment with genuine high-fidelity performance. Whether you're pairing it with premium in-wall speakers for a completely discrete system or complementing traditional tower speakers in a hybrid setup, the Fathom IWS-SYS-213 brings the kind of controlled, musical low-end that makes movie soundtracks visceral and music reproduction complete. If you value both sonic excellence and architectural integration, this system deserves your serious consideration.

Reviews

JL Audio’s IWS in-wall subwoofer system doesn’t just rival the performance of generic freestanding subwoofers; it rivals the performance of JL Audio’s freestanding subwoofers, which is an entirely different proposition. If you want uncompromised bass performance in a room that won’t easily accommodate freestanding subwoofers, there’s only one game in town.
